What we don't collect
Cork has no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking SDKs. Your boards, tiles, categories and settings stay in private on-device storage and vanish on uninstall. The export file exists only when you create one, in the location you choose.
Network use
Cork works offline. It touches the network in exactly one situation: Google Play's billing service, when you buy or restore the one-time Pro unlock. That conversation is between your device and Google — Cork operates no server and receives nothing. Opening a link hands it to your browser; from there the browser's own rules apply.
Your installed apps
To offer app tiles, Cork lists the apps on your phone that can be launched, using Android's scoped app-visibility filter — not the broad “query all packages” permission. That list is read on your device, used only to draw the picker and your tiles' icons, and is never stored beyond the tiles you create and never transmitted anywhere.
Permissions
Cork never shows you a runtime permission prompt — the kind Android raises mid-use to ask for your camera, microphone, location, contacts or files. Cork asks for none of those. Pinning tiles, boards and widgets to your home screen goes through Android's own confirm dialog, with no permission involved.
Google Play's store listing has a separate section headed “This app has access to”. That lists install-time entries declared in the app's manifest: they are granted when the app is installed and never prompt you. In Play's own wording, Cork's are:
- Full network access and view network connections — used to reach Google Play's billing service for the one-time purchase. Nothing else in the app talks to the network.
- Google Play licence check — how Google Play tells the app whether your one-time Pro unlock is owned. That conversation is between your device and Google; we run no server of our own and receive nothing.
- Other — an app-private entry that Android's own support libraries add so that only Cork can reach Cork's internal components. It is a hardening measure, and grants no access to your device or your data.
None of these read, collect or transmit anything personal.
This website
No accounts, no sign-ups, and no advertising or tracking SDKs. Page loads are counted anonymously — the published counter stores no IP addresses and no identifiers.
Our web server keeps a short-lived request log — the page requested, the time, the result, the browser's user-agent string, and the IP address the request came from. We use it to keep the site running and to look into abuse such as scraping or flooding. It is not used for advertising, profiling or analytics, is not linked to any account, and is deleted after 30 days.
The site is served through Cloudflare, and some pages link out to other services such as Google Play. Those are covered by their own privacy policies, not this one.
